A RARE BLUE AND WHITE ‘LOTUS’ WATERPOT
Kangxi
Of lotus-bud shape, painted with six lotus-petal panels rising from the
short slightly spreading foot, and each panel centered by a profiled
lotus flowerhead with flaring upright slender leaves, all below a narrow
chevron band at the shoulder and below a short neck.

rooms, The Marsh Collection: Art for the Literati, 3 November 2022,
lot 31, which was formerly in the collection of Sir and Lady Harry M.
Garner and also published, illustrated and exhibited at The Oriental
Ceramic Society, Chinese Blue and White Porcelain, 14th to 19th
Centuries, London, 16 December 1953 - 23 January 1954, no.279. Sir
Harry and his wife Lady Hilda Garner donated much of their collection
to the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
