A LARGE BLUE AND WHITE MOLDED
‘LOTUS PETAL’ BEAKER VASE, GU
Kangxi
Rising from a spreading foot to a bulbous
central section surmounted by a tall flaring
neck, each section with molded lotus petals,
the lower section with landscape scenes
alternating with rockwork issuing peony and
prunus branches, the central section with
jardinières issuing narcissus, begonia, and
lotus dividing landscape and figural scenes,
the upper section with two rows of similar
alternating panels, all three sections divided by
bands of diamond chevrons, the rim interior
with a reserved band of lotus below further
band of diamond chevrons, the glazed flat
base with an encircled artemisia leaf mark.
