Mr. Bishop first moved to Manila from Denver, Colorado in 1910, 國，備受家族兩代（下至藏家孫女）珍視。
and was joined there by his wife. He first clerked for H. R. Cooper &
Co., subsequently advancing to the position of President. When U.S.
Industries bought H.R. Cooper (renamed Koppel, Philippines), he
became its Vice President, then retired in 1955. By his descendants’
repute, the current lot was directly purchased from the artist in
the early 1950s. It was brought back to the United States before
1960 and has been treasured by two generations down to his
granddaughter.
