A RARE PAIR OF IMPERIAL CARVED CINNABAR LACQUER
'DRAGON' BOWLS
QIANLONG INCISED AND GILT SIX-CHARACTER MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The exterior of each bowl is finely carved through layers of cinnabar lacquer in high relief
with six striding five-clawed horned dragons amidst scrolling clouds against a diaper-
ground of dark green lacquer, above the circular foot decorated with a key-fret band, the
interior lined to the mouth rim with gilt-metal. (marks)
