A WHITE JADE FIGURE OF
DONGFANG SHUO
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The jovial figure is well-carved in the round with his open
mouth framed by a dense beard, his hair tied in a topknot.
The immortal is characteristically depicted holding a large
peach branch bearing three ripe peaches in his left hand, and
his loose robes tied at the waist.
