A WHITE JADE ‘BUFFALO AND QILIN’ GROUP

QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The buffalo is finely carved reclining over clouds, its head turning sharply to the right over
its right foreleg, with a rope passing through its nostrils, around one horn and extending
over its back. Beside the buffalo is a small qilin pressed against its body.
