A WHITE JADE OPENWORK ‘LOTUS AND EGRET’ VASE
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The upright receptacle is naturalistically carved in the form of a large lotus leaf with
undulating rim, detailed with two egrets. The exterior with a network of veins, growing
from a stem that forms the base, bearing a curling leaf, a lotus pod, and a budding
lotus flower.
