The rectangular seal is carved with an inscription in running 來源:
script on the side with a dedicatory inscription to Shaoquan 二十世紀末得於舊金山李鴻章後人（傳）
(Li Hongzhang, 1823-1901) followed by a signature of Kunyu
(He Kunyu, 1828-1896). The seal face is carved with a four-character 李鴻章(1823-1901)，安徽合肥人，字少荃、子黻、漸甫，號小滄浪亭、儀叟、
inscription in seal script, Xiao Cang Lang Ting, the studio name of 省心，人稱李中堂、李傅相，亦稱合肥相國。晚清重臣。淮軍創建者和統帥，
