Given its small size, this vibrant sculpture has been cast with surprising
detail, from the hair of severed heads, to the bright expression of the
prone figure under their feet; he seems captivated by the divine couple.
Nepalese sculptures are handled during devotional practice, leaving
raised areas worn, such as, in this instance, the hands of the deities,
their symbolic implements, and the lotus base’s beaded rim.
