Half male, half female, Lakshminarayana represents the conjoined
form of the Hindu god Vishnu and his consort Lakshmi.
Lakshminarayana draws conceptual similarities with Vajrayana yidams
like Chakrasamvara, whereby the female (Shakti) represents the
passive source of divine power, and the male its active wielder.
