                                                                      The present lot is very rare for its size and use of the turquoise glaze;
                                                                      however, related examples, Yongzheng seal mark and of the period,
                                                                      from the Qing court collection, exist in other glazes such as teadust,
                                                                      ru, guan, lazurite-blue, and carved dragon design in light greenish-
                                                                      blue glaze, illustrated in The Complete Collection of the Treasures of
                                                                      the Palace Museum: Monochrome Porcelain, Beijing, 1999, pls.135,
                                                                      195, 206, and 214. See also a turquoise glazed melon-shaped jar,
                                                                      Yongzheng seal mark and of the period, from the Qing court collection,
                                                                      illustrated ibid., pl.150.
