A carved nephrite snuff bottle
1780-1880
Designed as the fabled legendary figure Liu Hai in a loose robe, his
flowing hair finely incised, seated on his kneeled left leg, his face with
an animated expression, both of his hands holding a three-legged
toad supported on his right leg; the grayish-white stone displaying
white and russet inclusions and natural fissure veins.

A carved nephrite snuff bottle
1750-1820
Of rounded rectangular form with a cylindrical neck, flat lip, oval foot
ring, one of the main sides with a subtle layer of russet inclusions nicely
fitted as the background of the raised carving depicting an immortal
standing near a vertical rock formation in the shade of a large pine tree,
with a monkey kneeling in front of him offering a peach in tribute, the
narrow sides with a pair of raised faux lion mask-and-ring handles.
