of extremely large square form, surmounted by an
exceptionally well carved pair of addorsed dragons, each 愛米爾．吉美（1836-1918年）收藏，1905年1月購自
carved with eyes bulging and nostrils flaring below flaring 上述藝商，登錄編號1689，此後家族傳承
horns, the scales and flowing manes finely incised in 香港蘇富比2008年10月8日，編號2003及封面
meticulous detail, the two muscular bodies writhing and
intertwining to display great vigour and power, pierced
through the centre with an aperture, the square seal deeply
and crisply carved with the four characters Qianlong yubi (‘In
the imperial hand of Qianlong’), the stone of an exceptionally
even milky-white tone and finished with a brilliant and
smooth polish

Galerie Langweil, a leading gallery in Paris, 1905.
Collection of Emile Guimet (1836-1918), acquired from the
above in January 1905, ref. no. 1689, and thence by descent.
