a slightly recessed base to a short neck centered
with a # ange below the # ared rim, covered overall
with a lustrous black glaze, swiftly painted with
russet strokes forming three abstract phoenix in
# ight, save for the foot ring left unglazed revealing
the bu< -colored stoneware body
