The cup and saucer are each delicately enamelled with a star-shaped
cartouche comprising a boy with a ruyi-sceptre approaching an elegant lady
seated in an interior, while a lady-in-waiting stands beside her and a cat is at
her feet.

Each vase is decorated to the exterior with
recessed petal-form panels enclosing alternating
landscape scenes and precious objects, all
reserved on a black scrolling foliage ground.
The mid-section is painted with rectangular
landscapes and foral panels reserved on various
iron red diaper grounds.
