A RELIEF-CARVED ZITAN AND HUALI ‘IMMORTALS’ PANEL
LATTER HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY

清十九世紀末 紫檀及花梨木山水人物圖屏

The panel is deeply carved in relief with two Immortals holding auspicious
objects, each seated on a qilin. One is crossing a bridge over a fowing river
while the other is on a rocky ledge, all in a mountainous tree-strewn landscape.

A ZITAN VASE-SHAPED FRAME
19TH-20TH CENTURY

清十九/二十世紀 紫檀花瓶式框架

The frame is carved in the form of a rectangular-section twin-handled vase,
cover and stand, with openwork branching fowers to the base and shoulder.
The reverse with a rectangular back panel. The wood is of a deep brown tone.
