The clock has a circular white enamel dial with Roman hours and
Arabic quarters, surrounded by a gilt metal frame decorated with shou
characters, bats and scrolling fowers. It is encased in a wooden frame
with sliding panels to the front and reverse, decorated with openwork
foral design and two rectangular windows to the side, the twin fusee
movement with foliate engraved backplate signed ‘Wong Yih Shing /
Shanghai’, accompanied with a brass winding key
