AN AGATE ‘CATFISH’ PENDANT AND THREE SMALL
AGATE CARVINGS

件

The pendant is carved in the form of a lotus leaf, the dark brown skin
carved with a pair of catfsh, a seedpod and with an auspicious phrase
niannian youyu, that may be translated as ‘abundance year after year’.
The three small carvings comprise a lotus fower, a double-gourd and
two peaches.

                                                                        The group is carved as a chilong with another one curled up beside
                                                                        it. The stone is of a translucent white and smoky grey tone.
