TIANQI PERIOD, CIRCA 1621-1627

The interior of the dish is decorated with
Shoulao seated on a rock surrounded by
seven of the Daoist immortals beneath
overhanging pine trees. The fat, everted
rim is decorated with a dense band of blue
medallions.

A BLUE AND WHITE ‘HARE’ TRIPOD
CENSER
SHUNZHI PERIOD (1644-1661)

The censer is thickly potted with rounded
sides supported on three rectangular feet. It
is decorated on the exterior with a hare on a
terraced garden with pine and plantain trees,
and the base has a six-character mark reading
da Qing nian Dexing zhi (Made by Dexing in
the Great Qing).
