MING DYNASTY(1368-1644)
The brush rest, or weight, is well carved as two
birds shown seated side by side, each with its head
turned to look at the other, and its feet tucked
under the body. The stone is softly polished.

A WHITE, RUSSET AND GREY JADE BELT HOOK
LATE MING-EARLY QING DYNASTY, 17TH-18TH
CENTURY
Of thick, rounded rectangular form, the front is
carved in relief with a chilong looking back at a
russet area carved with a bat amidst vapor, and the
reverse is carved in high relief from the grey areas
of the stone with a lingzhi-shaped hook at each end
and a sprig of lingzhi in the center.
