A PALE GREYISH-GREEN JADE CENSER AND RETICULATED COVER
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The censer is carved as a jar supported by the wind-tossed waves that form the base, and is
carved below the shoulder with a band of wan diaper between dot borders spanned on one
side by a mask and ring handle, and on the other with a dragon crawling from the waves to the
rim, while two chilong form handles at the ends. The cover is carved and pierced with a band
of clouds below a coiled dragon that clutches a faming pearl.
