A WHITE JADE GOURD-FORM BOX AND COVER
18TH CENTURY
The deep box is carved in the form of a slightly waisted gourd, with
leaves and tendrils, and a bat in fight carved in low relief on the
convex cover. The fnely polished stone is semi-translucent and of
white color.
