                                            India, Kangra or Guler, circa 1820  Krishna is seen engaged in water-sports with his
                                                                              companions and gopis in the Yamuna. Each of his
                                            Opaque watercolor on paper heightened with gold  companions is pictured with his consort - Arjuna
                                            folio: 15 by 19 in. (38.1 by 48.2 cm.), unframed  with Subhadra, Balarama with Revati, Pradyumna
                                            image: 13⅜ by 17¼ in. (34 by 43.8 cm.)  with Rati - but the playful and universally adored
                                                                              Krishna is seen multiple times, identifiable by his
                                                                              saffron-colored robes, each time in the company
                                                                              of a separate consort.
