                   a lively game of weiqi, observed by two companions seated by
                   the table, set in an open pavilion nely furnished with porcelain
                   stools, a side table with books and a censer, a large screen
                   behind, enclosed within a colorfully painted balustrade and a
                   tiled roof with upswept eaves, the underside with foliage and
                   rockwork, the base with a six-character mark in underglaze
                   blue within a double circle

                   A BLUE AND WHITE VASE
                   QING DYNASTY, KANGXI PERIOD

                   the baluster body rising from a spreading foot to a tall
                   cylindrical neck and garlic mouth with everted lipped rim, the
                   body painted to one side with a shaped cartouche enclosing
                   a scene of a scholar and attendant in a landscape, and to the
                   other side with an arrangement of antiques and auspicious
                   emblems, with a twelve-character inscription above reading
                   bogu fengsheng suijiu shiwan qixiang zengxin (although there is
                   a long history in collecting antiques, recently a new collecting
                   trend emerged), followed by a painted seal impression, the
                   base with a seal mark reading Gu, the neck with cloud scroll
                   and ruyi borders
