JIAJING SIX-CHARACTER MARKS IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE
WITHIN DOUBLE CIRCLES AND OF THE PERIOD (1522-1566)
Each is decorated on the interior with a large phoenix in fight amidst clouds, its long, trailing tail formed as
simplifed foliate scroll, beneath a border of alternating cranes in fight amidst clouds and roundels of shou
characters, and the reverse with a continuous border of leafy lingzhi scroll, all between double line borders.
