By Okamoto Ryozan, Meiji Period
Decorated with fan-shaped panels of ladies and gentlemen and
tranquil river landscapes, on reticulated honeycomb and diamond
pattern grounds, the body painted with a blossoming cherry tree,
within borders of petal form lappets, signed Dai Nippon Kyoto Ryozan
beneath the Yasuda Company trade mark with the Satsuma mon of
the Shimazu Family. 25.5cm (10in) high.
