GARMENTS
Early 20th century
Comprising: a cream silk ground embroidred Han-style jacket, ao,
decorated with flowers and butterflies 60.5cm (23 3/4in) long; a
turquoise waist coat embroidered with medallions of ladies in a garden,
50.5cm (19 7/8in) long; and a striped blue and red silk jacket fastened
at the centre wih silk and metal clasps and embroidered with floral
designs, 67cm (23 3/8in) long.

A KESI ‘DRAGON ROUNDEL’ SURCOAT, LONGGUA
Early 20th century
Woven in gilt and coloured threads with eight large dragon roundels,
each enclosing a writhing five-clawed dragon clutching a flaming pearl
amongst cloud scrolls, all above a broad band of foaming waves and
lishui stripes, the sleeves bordered with smaller dragon roundels.

19th/20th century
Embroidered with nine writhing dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls,
amongst billowing cloud scrolls, above jagged rocks issuing from
foaming and crashing waves and a lishui stripe band, the interior wool
lined behind a gauze covering.
