DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1875-1908)
The sides are decorated in ‘boneless’ style in bright enamels with
a large peony and a phoenix fying amidst a landscape of rocks, Each dish is decorated in the interior with a leafy branch bearing red
bamboo, and lingzhi.

Richard K. Sun Collection, Pasadena, California, acquired in 1978. Bamboo shoots (sun) is a pun for grandson and together with red plums,
they express the wish to have many male descendants.
