A PAIR OF LARGE FAMILLE ROSE HU-FORM VASES

LATE QING DYNASTY

Each vase is of baluster form with a pair of bamboo-form handles fanking the neck. The

sides are decorated with panels enclosing scenes of boys at play and of Shoulao with female

attendants, with additional panels of birds and fowers between, and on the neck, all

interspersed with Daoist symbols and fowers. Each has an apocryphal Qianlong mark on the

base.
