A PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE ‘BOYS’ VASES
REPUBLIC PERIOD
Each has a bulbous body decorated in mirror image with a procession
of boys playing musical instruments on a terrace between a petal-
lappet band below and a band of lotus sprays alternating with gilt shou
characters on a ruby ground on the shoulder, all below decorative
bands at the bottom and top of the tall, waisted neck, and one neck
with two pink bats. A Hongxian mark is on each base.
