A LARGE CARVED YAOZHOU CELADON BOWL
NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (AD 960-1127)

The bowl, with deep, conical sides that fare to an up-curved rim, is
well carved on the interior with a peony blossom surrounded by six
leaves below a line border, and on the exterior with a broad band of
simplifed petals rising to a line border, all under a glaze of dark olive-
green color that ends in a line at the unglazed foot.
