A RARE RUSSET-STREAKED BLACKISH-BROWN-GLAZED JAR
SONG DYNASTY (AD 960-1279)
The globular body tapers towards the pair of small, ribbed strap handles and the
lipped rim, and is covered on the exterior, rim and interior of the neck with a
lustrous black glaze liberally streaked in russet which falls irregularly to the thick
foot. The interior is also glazed.
