AN ‘EEL SKIN’-GLAZED ZUN-FORM VASE
18TH-19TH CENTURY

The vase has a compressed body raised on a
spreading foot, and a trumpet-shaped neck,
and is covered overall with a fnely speckled,
matte glaze of yellowish-olive-green color
that thins to tortoiseshell on the rim. The
base is unglazed.

A LARGE COPPER-RED-GLAZED HIGH-
SHOULDERED VASE
18TH-19TH CENTURY

The high-shouldered body tapers to a fared
lower edge at the foot, and is covered in a
crackle-suffused glaze of crushed-strawberry-
red color that thins to a slightly lighter color
on the upper body and to a rose-tinged, pale
celadon on the neck, which is covered on
the interior with a golden crackle-suffused,
blue-green glaze. The base is also covered
with a celadon glaze suffused with dark
brown crackle.
