A RARE YAOZHOU CELADON
VASE, MEIPING
JIN DYNASTY (1115-1234)
The body is carved with a wide band of leafy
peony scroll, beneath a narrow band of leaf scroll
and overlapping lappets on the shoulder and
above the foot. The glaze is a pale olive-green
color suffused with a fne crackle.

A related Yaozhou celadon meiping found at
Longqiaogou, Fuping county, also dated to the
Jin dynasty and currently in the Shaanxi History
Museum, is illustrated in Complete Collection of

Beijing, 2008, p. 194, no. 194.
