SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA

NORTHERN WEI DYNASTY (AD 386-534)

Shakyamuni Buddha is shown seated in dhyanasana and wearing robes that fall
in heavy folds down the front of the throne. His head is framed by a nimbus of
concentric circles surrounded by fames carved on the fame-shaped aureole.
