the rounded sides rising from a flared foot to an everted
rim, flanked by a pair of handles carved in openwork with
intertwined floral stems suspending loose rings, the exterior
worked in low relief with stylised lotus sprays, the domed
cover similarly worked with shaped cartouches variously
enclosing ladies and birds in a landscape, all reserved on a
ground of floral sprays, below a band of bats, surmounted
by a finial in the form of a leafy bloom suspending loose
rings, the stone of a rich olive-green tone flecked with black
speckles

skilfully worked in mirror image, each depicting Magu
carrying a leafy branch of peaches in one hand and holding
a ruyi scepter in another, seated atop a standing crane with
meandering lingzhi sprigs below, all supported on a spinach-
green jade stand
