QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
the bell-shaped body rising to a tall cylindrical neck and a
lipped rim, boldly painted on both sides with a stylised kui
phoenix design, its head on the neck of the vase dissolving
into abstract blue scrolls draping over the shoulders against
a plain white ground, the base with an apocryphal Chenghua
mark, wood stand

QING DYNASTY, 19TH – 20TH CENTURY
of square form, the domed top painted with a five-clawed
iron-red dragon, writhing around a flaming pearl amidst floral
sprays, scrolling clouds and flames, the box similarly painted
with further dragons pacing amidst flowers, flames and
clouds, encircled by key-fret bands at the rims, the base with
an apocryphal Wanli mark

potted rising from a bell-shaped foot to an angular shoulder
and upturned rim, the exterior, carved around the body and
the neck with single ‘shou’ characters and four bats around
the shoulder, applied overall with an unctuous creamy-white
glaze
