A CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL MOONFLASK
MING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
Of fattened form, the moonfask is decorated on one side with a butterfy
in fight amidst leafy chrysanthemum stems, and on the other side with a
further butterfy amidst leafy camellia branches, all below two forets on the
cylindrical neck fanked by two arched handles.

A PAIR OF CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL ELEPHANTS
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The elephants are made in mirror image, each with a head and body in white
enamel with gilt wires suggesting wrinkled skin, yellow eyes and gilt tusks, and
each caparisoned in a brightly patterned harness and a saddlecloth decorated
with a bat suspending a tasseled musical stone containing the character ji and
ending in a bejeweled yellow-ground fringe. Each elephant supports a double-
gourd vase decorated with lotus sprays.
