The Buddha seating on a lotus throne with
the right hand in vitarka mudra, the left hand
resting on his thigh, two semi-precious
hardstones applied in correspondence of the
urna and the ushnisha, behind the Buddha
a double halo enclosed in a Bodhi tree leaf.

STANDING FIGURE OF AMIDA BUDDHA
Edo Period, 18th/19th century
The face in a serene expression, with the
eyes almost closed, bearing the traces of
enlightenment with the urna on his forehead,
the elongated earlobes and the hands in
raigo mudra, dressed in flowing robes the
Amidha Buddha is standing on a lotus
pedestal supported by an elaborately carved
hexagonal four-tiered mount, backed by
a gilded wood kohai (nimbus) with a lotus
flower right to the back of Amidha’s head
emanating radiant spokes.
