split in two, framed by other skeleton figures

A THANGKA OF MANJUSHRI
Tibet, Gelug, 18th/19th century
Distemper on cloth, the central figure seated
on a lotus throne, holding a flaming sword
and the stem of a lotus bloom upon which
rests a book and the triratna, the deity
surrounded by lineage and retinue figures
identified by inscriptions in gilt, with a Dalai
Lama on top, unmounted. 64.5cm (25 3/8in)
