A GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI
17th/18th century
Seated on a double lotus pedestal, the right hand touching the earth
in bhumisparsa mudra gesture, the left hand held in the lap in dhyana
mudra, dressed in long flowing robes, with cold-painted blue eyes
and traces of white pigment on the urna and red pigment on the lips.

A GILT-BRONZE COPPER-ALLOY FIGURE OF A LAMA
Tibet, possibly 18th century
Heavily cast, the figure seated in padmasana over cushions and clad
in a peaked layered headdress, probably that of the Karma-pas, and
thickly-folded robes, his right hand held before his torso in vitarka
mudra, the other open in his lap, the cushions and hems of the robes
finely incised with brocaded motifs. 22cm (8 5/8in) high

20th century
Standing on a domed lotus petal base, the figure flanked by tall leafy
lotus blooms supporting an elixir vessel and the wheel of law, the
flowing robes elaborately adorned with jewellery and a seven-pointed
crown, inset with turquoise and coral beads, hardwood stand.
