383 PAIR OF GREEN-GLAZED GRANARIES
Han Dynasty
Comprising: two hu-shaped vases with three
raised reeded bands to the upper body with
incised scroll decoration to the shoulder, and
two lug and ring handles; a pair of granaries
each of cylindrical form standing on tripod
feet moulded as bears, with two incised line
bands, the tops with ridge and tile roofs. The
tallest: 43.2cm (17in) high (4).

A RARE AND UNUSUAL PAINTED GREY
POTTERY FIGURE OF A TRICORN
384 BEAST
Han Dynasty
The sturdy beast shown mid-stride with its
horned, bovine head lowered, the arched
neck ridged with three pointed horns, three
round bosses in relief on top of the spine and
with a raised curled tail, the front legs flanked
by a pair of wings, all with traces of white slip
and grey pigment.
