       A CELADON JADE 'DRAGON' VASE AND COVER
       QING DYNASTY, 18TH / EARLY 19TH CENTURY
       清十八 / 十九世紀初 青玉浮雕趕珠龍紋花卉圖蓋瓶


       of flattened hu form supported on a stepped foot and surmounted by a galleried rim, the shoulders supporting a five-clawed
       dragon prowling in pursuit of a 'Flaming Pearl', the animal's body carved in the round with undercut and openwork details, one side
       of the vase carved in low relief with a blossoming prunus tree, the other side with flowering peony and a butterfly, the domed cover
       with a rope-twist oval finial, the stone a translucent gray-green tone with icy inclusions, zitan stand inlaid with silver wire (3)


       Height 7⅞ in., 20 cm
