INDIA, PROBABLY ORISSA, 17TH CENTURY OR LATER
Standing with the right leg crossed over the left, clad in a short dhoti and
adorned with armlets and necklaces, the round face with large almond-
shaped eyes and fanked by circular earrings, the hair arranged in a short
bun suspending a long tassel down the back
10æ in. (27 cm.) high, 12Ω in. (31.2 cm.) high with tang, softwood stand
