A RARE WHITE AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF A
FOREIGNER AND DOG
Ming Dynasty
The seated figure well carved with distinctive facial features, wearing
an elaborately carved flowing hooded cape falling in pleats, teasing a
crouching dog with a ball in his raised right hand, the dog carved with
a meticulously combed mane and bushy tail, the stone of even white
tone highlighted with areas of russet inclusions.
