A WHITE JADE DISC, BI A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE RING,
HUAN
WARRING STATES (475-221 BC)
HAN DYNASTY (206 BC-220 AD)
The disc with notched edges is carved on both sides in relief with
ruyi-form bosses. The stone is now of a pale greyish-white colour The circular disc is pierced with a central circle and decorated
with some areas of minor russet inclusions. similarly on each side with a band of comma swirls, within inner
1 ¬ in. (4.2 cm.) diam. and outer raised borders. The side with an incised inscription
reading ‘san bai shi shi’.
