A ZITAN FRAME
Late Qing Dynasty
The frame is of rectangular shape and horizontal orientation with a
hump-backed top bar bearing a bronze ruyi-form ring for suspension,
the surface of the frame carved with archaistic scroll work and lotus
heads and leaves, the interior of the frame with an additional key-fret
border. The wood has a dark brown hue with reddish highlights.
