           TWO ‘LIUQING’ CARVED BAMBOO BRUSHPOTS
           Signed Zhu Wenyou, Qing dynasty
           Each delicately carved to the exterior in the liuqing technique utilizing
           the skin of the bamboo to accentuate the continuous scene of a
           waterscape with boatmen and houses and pavilions surrounded by
           trees with mountains in the distance, one brushpot inscribed with
           the title of the scene Jiangnan shuixiang ju yi xian (idyllic lifestyle in a
           waterside village in south China), signed Wenyou with one seal Zhu;
           the other with a seal of the artist reading Zhu Wenyou zhi, and a hall
           seal mark, both set with hardwood rims and footed bases.
