A PAIR OF ELABORATELY CARVED AND
PIECED HARDWOOD STANDS
Each of rectangular form with indented
corners and a set-in waist, the convex aprons
deeply undercut with foliate scrolls repeating
the shape of the cabriole legs attached at an
angle on each corner above footed stretcher
bars, the top of each stand cut with recesses
to support a footed object that is no longer
preserved.

A GROUP OF SEVEN WOOD STANDS
19th/20th century
The largest of rectangular form with a
burlwood panel inset to the top, boxwood
spandrels undercut as flowering branches
attached to the legs joined with humpback
stretchers above horse-hoof feet; the second
a side table with three burlwood panels set
into the top of C-scroll form terminating in
foliate scrolls repeated in the aprons between
the four legs fronted with applied boxwood
pieces and joined on the short sides by
scalloped spandrels above a cross bar; a pair
of curving leaf-shaped stands finished on both 5290
sides and undercut at one end as issuing
from a branch; a pair of symmetrical double-
tier C-scroll stands with silver wire inlay of
flowers and foliate scrolls at the corners of the
rectangular tops; the seventh an asymmetrical
double-tier C-scroll stand raised on four low
feet (wear, some with age cracks).
