               of upright section, with a globular body surmonted by a
               broad tubular neck and flanged rim, set with phoenix handles
               suspending loose rings, decorated with taotie, the neck
               surrounded with stiff leaves

               Another example of this vase in the Palace Museum, Beijing,
               is illustrated in Compendium of Collections in the Palace
               Museum, Enamels, vol. 3, Cloisonné in the Qing Dynasty,
               Beijing, 2011, pl. 110, and another, possibly the same vase is
               illustrated in situ in the Hall of Fragrance in the Forbidden
               City, published in Hu Chui, The Forbidden City. Collection of
               Photographs by Hu Chui, Beijing, 1998, p. 71. Compare also a
               related vase of slightly larger size, sold in our London rooms,
               4th April 1966, lot 111.
